THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME

Our family has been enjoying Tahoe for generations. Once upon a time, we had a Stone cabin on the south shore which was lovingly named “The Blarney Stone”. When we purchased this cabin, we wanted to pay respects to our original family cabin and decided this was the “Blarney Stone Annex”

OUR FAVORITE PLACES

A must visit each time we come to the cabin. Situated on the west shore of the lake, they have a beautiful pier for family photos and delicious food. It can get very busy, so reservations are recommended unless going at an off time.

A great place for a bite to eat or a drink by the river. Located near historic fanny bridge, this is a great place to grab a meal in Tahoe City

Enjoy a day floating along the Truckee River. Depending on how much rain has fallen, this is normally a pretty calm river rafting experience. You can either bring your own float and access the public dock, or you can pay and float with a company. Truckee River Rafting is the company we normally use.

Be sure to arrive early on the weekends as this state park fills up quickly. Parking is $15 for non-Nevada plates and $10 for Nevada license plates. It is a beautiful sandy beach on the east shore of the lake that is a must do while vacationing in Tahoe in the summer. They have kayak rentals there!

Chambers landing is the oldest bar on the water in Lake Tahoe, they have a beach and are situated on a dock over the water on the west side of the lake. They are known for their chambers "punch" and are a great place to stop for lunch or a drink while having a beach day at Chambers.

An amazing 12.3 mile hike along the edge of Lake Tahoe's cliffs. It starts at D.L. Bliss State Park and takes you into the famous Emerald Bay. This hike requires lots of water and snacks. If the weather permits, it is also a good idea to pack a swimsuit to jump in Emerald Bay.

The most delicious italian food in Tahoe. Located in Kings Beach, this is a quick drive from the cabin and right across from the lake. The meals are massive and the ambience is exciting. This is a great place for a family meal or a romantic date.

A great place located on the water. It has a bar and restaurant, and ample outdoor seating. If renting a boat, you can dock your boat in their dock and grab lunch or dinner.

There are many golf courses in Tahoe, but only one within walking distance from the cabin. Northstar has a great 18 hole course. A player can rent clubs and a golf cart. If 18 holes sounds like too much, there is also a driving range and putting area for practice.
